Avoid getting Caught while Card Counting
Card Counting

Card counting is a casino game strategy that is used in the game of blackjack, one thing about card counting that most people know is that it is a grey area. This means that there are no laws that prohibit it. However, most casinos are not for the idea that players practice this strategy. That is why we want to give a few tips that you can use to avoid attracting attention as you count cards.

Measures Put in Place by Casinos

Casinos put in place various measures to make sure that you don’t get away with card counting. However, despite all their efforts, book-by-card counting experts know all about these methods and ways that people can easily counter them.

  1. The Cutting Card

Casinos implemented a measure known as the cutting card. When the dealer reaches a specific card, they reshuffle the entire deck, resetting the player’s running count.

  2. Multiple Decks

Counting cards with one deck is fairly easy. That is why casinos soon started playing the game of blackjack with more than one deck. Nowadays, casinos use 4 to 8 decks when they play the game.

  3. In-house card counting

There is a saying that goes if you can’t beat them, join them. Therefore, the casinos started doing just that. They would simply get someone from the casino to join the game. If they suspect that you were card counting, a casino member disguised as a   player would join the game. That player would also be card counting, by so doing they would be able to keep track of your progress as you count cards as well. That would lead to the card counter inevitably getting caught.

  4. Microchips on Gambling Decks

Another way that casinos can keep track of players is by using microchips. These microchips can easily detect irregularities at tables. This would, therefore, make it easier for the casino to collect all that is happening at the casino. This may sound a bit too much, however, bear in mind that these same establishments have had surveillance cameras for ages. Furthermore, they are in the money-making business.

  5. Facial Recognition

In most cases, when a casino catches a card counter, they gather all relevant information about the individual and upload it to a specific database. As a result, if the card counter tries to enter another casino, the surveillance cameras will quickly recognize them, leading to their removal before reaching the blackjack tables.
